i've added clam and oyster shells to tanks without much more than a quick rinse. sometimes not even that if it was something i pulled from the ocean myself.
with those shells its easier to see there's no flesh or detritus left in them, but i'd rather not deal with putting something that's...
take this all with a grain of salt because i've never pulled an icp test before, but i'm bothered by the critically high and critically low stuff. what salt are you using and are you using your own ro/di? wondering where those values are coming from, it would seem important to get to the bottom...
i have access to a microscope, but its at work and in philly. is this something that prepping a slide would work for? pretty sure we could get some pictures of the scopes, but i don't really do micoscopy, but it should not be a problem.
LOL, actually was just joking, it horrifies me. but she likes it and that's what's important. just trying to bump the thread, as i'd like to see some tanks in this thread.
if no one submits anything i'm going to submit my daughter's 5 gallon freshwater masterpiece, complete gmo florescent tetras and plastic "plants."
on the plus side, she did ask if she could get some plants and a fog machine after visiting the aquarium center in blackwood this weekend.
whoa! that's an incredible deal, i'll gladly take those!
i've got a pretty full weekend, would it be possible to pick them up sunday some time around noon?
i can venmo you to hold them or give you cash on pickup. just let me know what you prefer.
it does look like Cycloseris is in the Fungiiadae family. i had a Heliofungia (long tentacled plate coral) in a 10 gallon nano that would move around the tank, but not much given the size of the plate and the limited space to move in the tank. i actually saw it doing it a few times and to me it...
i love that coral. i have a similar one with a deep blue oral disc around the mouth. one of my faves.
i'd love to find a nice Turbinaria heronensis too.
i'm only seeing 16 corals on the website and nothing in the vendor thread since november.
so do we need to make and appointment to see what he has @Ultimate Corals ?
i've had success peeling them off stuff by the foot. most advice says not to do that because they are delicate and you can tear and kill them. but in my experience, the base/foot where it attaches to the rock is pretty callous and tough.
i've also tried freezing rodi water into cubes and...
i haven't used the caribsea life rock, so can't speak to that. but i am a big fan of than thien's thin super glue and sand method to make a solid structure. it makes some surprisingly strong connections that i haven't had topple.
i'm also a big fan of using a 1/2" masonry bit to drill holes for...
thanks for the update, i was thinking a little bit further north and west than oakland, but good to know. hope your son did well, wrestling is a great sport.
i should have talked to the reef nutrition and dinkins folks, but it was so hard to focus on anything with so much hot coral around.
really saw some amazing chalices at the second or third vendor on the right when you walked in the door. either david's aquarium or rhino reef, not sure which...
