Philadelphia Aquatics

Paul and Eric are full time paramedics and avid reefers that have enjoyed the hobby for several years. A converted basement in Northeast Philadelphia is now the ultimate reefers’ refuge with 800 gallons harboring a vast assortment of corals!

In the spring of 2017 we decided to take the plunge into marine retail. As hobbyists, we too struggled with receiving livestock that were not the healthiest specimens, sick fish, and like many of you, suffered a lot of loss and unnecessary frustration (the part of the hobby we all hate). The Philadelphia Aquatics brand was born from these experiences to bring to you (from our basement for now) the healthiest, and most well vetted in captivity livestock available. We are as transparent as can be, and you’ll see in our display (if you visit enough) the still cooking SPS and others bringing out the most vivid colors nature has to offer. We’re here for you, and to share our fun with the hobby as well.

Converting the basement of our home into a “business” was no easy task. A once to be “man cave” sports a rustic décor. We gutted the basement and demolished the old fireplace to open the room. We re-purposed a stone wall from an old farm in Bucks County to create walls as well as old red oak planks for the ceiling.

Over the course of several months and one nail gun induced broken water pipe, Philadelphia Aquatics, LLC became a reality on September 11, 2017.
