Really depends what look you want. If you want a white look with a touch of blue from the actinics Geissman 14.5k's or Iwasaki 14k are nice. If you want a bluer look to the tank the Phoenix 14k is a solid choice.

I was reading some of Luxim's information. It seems they can achieve a very high kelvin rating with these bulbs. 14000k and 20000k are no problem. Just a matter of if and when they look at the aquarium industry.

Aqua-C Remora pro does a decent job, I had one on my 65. r0cknice43(shoot him a PM) may have one for sale if you want to try it. If I were to use a HOB skimmer again I would probably cough up the extra cash and get a Deltec MCE600.

TEK is a very good brand. Not much below Ice Cap and less expensive. As far as bulb layout, that's personal prefference. You'll probably end up going through a bunch of bulbs until you find a combo that you like.

I believe Tom is correct. I have used several different brands in both 150 and 250. The 150's were all the same and the 250's were all the same.

premium aquatics has some pretty good deals on the GEO reactor packages. Just keep in mind that a Ca reactor tends to lower your PH. I just did the same thing. I hear everyone say how nice the phoenix 14k's are so I tried them. Too blue for me, my birdsnest was more of a blue color than the pink it's supposed to be. Guess I'll be selling 3 phoenix 250's next week.
