Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Basically what everyone else mentioned. If you like snails don't add hermits. But for hair algae, tuxedo and pincushion urchin's are the way to go. But they need to be kept well fed and they lend a lot of wast to the system. And if you enjoy nice purple, pink, and red rocks, skip the urchin...
Still working for me. This just made my life harder.
Me and my wife are both still working in fact, even more then before and also have to deal with the kid at home enjoying no school. He is hoping they cancel for the year as he is liking the home schooling thing and the extra free time.
I've been using a bio-pellet reactor. I've used them in the past with success too, but they do have a limiting factor. Without Nitrates they no longer reduce Phosphates. I feed a lot, and 14 fish eat a lot, but not enough to keep nitrates high enough to keep phosphates a bit lower, my phosphates...
It can but there are ways to prevent it. Keeping it trimmed is by far the best way to prevent it. If in a sump, 24 hour light cycle is another. Tangs. Fox's and others will readily done on it as well, just in case.
In my experience, it grows way faster then cheato which make it ideal for sump...
Speaking of Filefish, look what I found this morning. Sleeping on the job
@ecam
I'll probably just learn to live with them. Those tiny things from ORA wouldn't make it 10 min in my system, between the wrasse, tangs, and flow.
Aptasia X is absolute garbage. I've used it now on the same aptasia probably 3 or 4 times
Whet with a Filefish.......NOPE
Peppermints...........NOPE(they didn't make it through the night till the wrasse had their way with them)
Eventually I'll try Nudibranchs, but I expect the wrasse will enjoy...
Haha
I was dipping corals over the weekend and told my wife who is an RN, if she gets it at work I could try and dip her in Coral RX or Bayer to see if it kills it.
I would definitely be intrested, not sure how we could pull it off though. I rarely get up that north, and with my son out of school I'm either working or sitting home with him.
I'm open to suggestions
Selling an essentially brand new Ocean Revive T247. I purchased this about 1 month ago and it only ran for about 2 weeks at about 40% Blues/20% Whites. Includes tank mount and hanging kit.
Decided to stay with T5 to math my display.
$150
When I was considering a 200 DD a few years back the 10 bulb T5 was going to be my go to light.
I have an Ocean Revive on my current frag tank, I absolutely hate it, it replaced a AI Prime HD which I hated too. My T5 just arrived today and BRS shipment with bulbs should be in later today. Can't...
Ok let me know, if I can find my way out to you I'll give you a shout.
I was hoping by offering to pay the shipping you would bite. Your not that far, but I'm pretty locked up for the next week or two. And your only about 45 min away.
