Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I suppose that’s possible, but most likely you would never see signs of parasites/worms on the skin of a dragonet. Their mucus layer is too thick to allow parasites through. However, parasites or worms could be present on the gill plates where the mucus is reduced in composition.
In this very first livestream of Humblefish & Friends, my wife & I will discuss our vision for future episodes. We want to discuss everything related to fish diseases & treatments, interview vendors that have been vetted on my forum, plus interview regular hobbyists about various topics...
0.5 ppm
2.5 ppm
But keep in mind that the Hanna checker has a 0.05 (+/-) margin of error. So, I would aim for 0.55 ppm (Cupramine) or 2.55 ppm (Copper Power) to be on the safe side. Most fish will tolerate those slightly higher concentrations.
The funny thing is the dosing instructions for General Cure are wrong. You don't redose it after 48 hours. You wait 5-7 days to allow time for any eggs to hatch, or better yet use this treatment calendar to determine when is the best time to add the second dose: Marine Parasites
I’ve started a YT channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/HumblefishReef/videos
I’m considering trying a weekly Q&A session using either Youtube or Zoom. Just kicking around ideas, wanting to do something different.
Hi - Any IT peeps here? I’m looking for some advice on ways to go about rebuilding my website. Something more intricate / maybe even interactive.
I’m not talking about the forum, but the website itself where I’m just using WordPress: Marine Fish Diseases and Treatment
That actually looks like Brooklynella to me. In addition to treating with copper, I would dose metronidazole every 48 hours for at least 10 days: Metronidazole – Marine Fish Diseases and Treatment
^^ This is entirely possible
It could also be a viral growth similar to Lympho: Lymphocystis – Marine Fish Diseases and Treatment
I've discovered both bacterial growths and viral nodules inside the gills during postmortem necropsies.
I agree. Here is my recipe for food soaking dewormers:
1 Tbsp food (preferably pellets or frozen food)
1 scoop (~ 1/8 teaspoon) of medication (General Cure)
1-2 scoops Seachem Focus (makes it reef safe + binds the medication)
A pinch of Epsom salt to help expel dead worms/parasites
A few drops...
@Gaspipe1 Can you post some pics showing the pimples & brown spot?
Assuming its not Ich or some other parasite, combining Kanaplex + Metroplex seems to resolve certain oddball disease issues that clownfish sometimes get.
