Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I am pretty sure "bots" that scan these forums count as "views". I may not be correct on that. This is my first time seeing this thread.
Question: I believe the meetings are open to all folks right? member or not?
Also is the raffle open to all members? Is there a difference in cost for...
yellowhead jawfish gobies do not sift the sand of the tank, but do a nice job around their burrow. They are known jumpers so initially it may be wise to set up a screen. Mine was very entertaining. They tend to be shy, so it's better to add them to the tank earlier. At night mine would...
wish I could come. I'll be in Manhattan all morning for a memorial service. Then later I have to go upstate...I hate hate hate the cross bronx expwy. I would so rather be in Monroe...
Wish I could help, unfortunately I will be in NY to attend a memorial/burial service. If you choose Sunday or a different date, let me know. Good luck!
Sorry! correction my wife told me H mart is sold out on the live short-necks I was thinking of. I'm not sure if they had anything else. She was there today.
Ah sorry I have been MIA. I will try and be more diligent coming here.
Oh i just replied to your other seafood market thread without reading this. Do NOT go to H-Mart. My wife was there today and they had no live clams for sale today. =(

I've never been to these places so check em on Yelp or Google reviews. These markets are sometimes hit and miss regarding clams/mussels.
I really like this place but it's a...
Check the chemistry of the water. Increase O2 agitation and conduct as many water changes as needed if your parameters are in doubt. Fish normally exchange gas naturally to maintain buoyancy but it is a slow process and will be inhibited/exacerbated with bad water quality. Diana's point...
I understand that some folks expect a discount in exchange for membership. But for long timers like me, "discounts" do not act as a lure for renewing membership. Being part of something, a group of people I can call friends....is enough for me. I would even go so far as to suggest a life-time...
please be aware - if you purchase black sand - it may contain iron - which means any magnet you have in the tank will attract the sand. BAD BAD idea....
is that used to seal seams on tanks? if so then fine. i ve never used that though. Are you trying to create some huge aquascape of live rock or something? Wondering why you need so much. I use crazy glue for small jobs. Larger jobs if you can hide it, a few zip ties work fine. if you have...
In my humble experience I found that they come out of the sand bed to go up the glass because they think the "food" is up there. Once the siphons figure out the food is on the bottom the drop from the glass. If they clean your glass - it's purely incidental.
or like you said - for exercise. =)
Nassarius snails do not eat algae. They do eat fish food and relish the stuff. I've never seen mine bother with fish poop. Something dies? They will be all over it. If you don't drop pellets for the nassarius - they will die. The other snails mentioned do eat algae and shouldn't need to be...
