Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I understood what you meant to say. Unfortunately I am not sure Exarkun1178 was going to read it that way.
My whole post was to be the "bad parent" and do my best to slow/stop him from adding more fish.
By the way there are some very good places to read about fish.
www.liveaquaria.com...
OK wow, I hate to be the bad guy but you are getting some bad advice. NJTiger said 2 inches of fish, I on the other had have always considered 1 or 2 gallons per inch of fish for freshwater and 5 gallons per inch of saltwater. NJTiger isn't the bad advice FYI, his is not conservative so I...
I have seen fish get spotted like that when stressed and it isn't ick ... not saying it is or isn't just to clarify. From the pictures it is extremely hard to tell. That said dumping copper in your tank is a problem. It is not just corals that it will kill but all inverts (snails, shrimp...
Here is a suggestion....go to the fridge ...get a nice cold beer or beverage of your choice sit in front of the tank and RELAX. :very_drunk:
Quit testing so much you will go insane. Things should be stabilizing at this point. If you don't throw a bunch of junk in the tank things will slowly...
Quick note...add the tangs last. Try to add smaller less aggressive fish first.
I really enjoy fish, more than corals to be honest, getting different acting fish is a goal I have. Even in freshwater I have a boatload of schooling fish and added some kribensis which totally reinvigorated how I...
Glad that you got professional engineering advice, forget what I said haha.
What are the total gallons on the tank?
What lighting are you going to use?
Did you use live rock/sand? If so then ammonia test kit is maybe crappy.
Who is your consultant?
I would suggest taking things slowly as...
Very interesting design I like it a lot. I had the same thoughts as everyone before me. I think with a six foot run on the stand to the center brace I might add some additional bracing.
When I got my clams I had T5....the MH group said that wouldn't work....switched to LED few years ago never saw a change.
I think feeding is key, phytoplankton is natural food for them. I tend to keep a "dirty" tank with lots of nutrients. My derasa has spawned a few times, which I understand...
I tried to setup AI module similar to a ATI Blue Plus as far as wavelengths go. The Blue Plus has been a go to T5 bulb for a reason as it appears to have best all around growth plus color. It took a little fiddling but the HD you can overpower the blues and purple bulbs to get that profile.
Phyl used to do photography for the club...her shots or Brian also did some great stuff. Know Phyl had a website and I think Brian did also......bet Ed could give you link.
I have one MP40 with the battery backup, for that alone it is one of a kind(unfortunately expensive). I had a GFI go and didn't have the battery backup....while replacing my fish and crying I bought the battery backup. I spoke to Will at AO and he is pushing the Sicce powerheads at the moment...
Cool little fish, the article was a bit of tease I wanted to know why they were important in energy transfer. Learned more about them having sex...which I guess is always interesting.o_O
