hard to tell from your picture, are they possibly flatworms? they can do a number on a hammer and presumably other corals and are pretty hard to see on the corals themselves.

i have some in 08034. i can glue it some on plugs or a tiles or two, you you can just take a sheet or strands if you like.
full disclosure though, i have vermetids and there is some aptasia showing up in spots now too.
