Do you have to have the apex el or apex energy bar to run the trident?

I hope this makes sense…. This equipment is new to me… But, Can you run the trident primarily as a water parameter checker and than get a reputable doser to maintain proper levels. I’m trying to make the daily maintenance a little less…. No more dosing and no more Hannah checker.

As it turns out my Hannah checker went bad. I never could get a reading above 7.8 no matter how much I dosed my tank. So I ordered a new one on Amazon and my first test showed a reading of 8.0 and the old one showed 7.0

Thanks for the suggestion. I just hit it with another 20 ml of Red Sea alk. I will test it in the morning and will let you all know how it’s going.
