So I’m thinking about getting the one that Marc and Jgraz recommended. I’m just not sure if will work with my space and area. Attached is a picture of my water making station. Please let me know what you think.
Thanks
I’m looking to buy myself a booster pump for my ro/di unit. My water pressure is low and it takes me about three hours to make 5 gallons of clean water. So here is my question: should I buy the aquatec 6800 with or without a pressure switch. Its only a $20 difference but I’m not sure if I...
Thanks for the comments. I think I’m going to let the current hair algae die out, by not giving it any light and when that happens I will buy some more chaeto and will feed my tank some of the nutrients that amado recommended.
It gets a small amount of flow. When I first dropped it in the sump it tried to go over the baffle But my sponge filter prevented it from doing so. This is why I tucked it under a small piece of rock.
About six weeks ago I converted my sump into a refugium. I added ten pounds of miracle mud, A few pounds of some dry rubble rock, some chaeto and I have an 18 watt rose colored led bulb.
At first I ran the light 24 hours a day and found that I was growing more green hair algae than anything...
I like the idea of some snails in the sump. I never thought about that one before. I also just ordered a timer for my light. I’ve read many different opinions about refugium lighting and will try the opposite schedule lighting approach. I will keep you guys posted.
thanks
About a month ago I converted my 29 gallon sump into a refugium. In the center chamber of the sump I put 10 lbs of miracle mud, 3 lbs of dry rubble rock and a fist full of chaeto. My light is an 18 watt rose colored led light that are supposed to be great for growing algae. I run my light 24...
Well, I got my new tds meter today and I hooked it up. I can constantly purify water between zero and one ppm. This unit seems to be more accurate compared to the tds pen. My tank looks so much better since I got the new Rodi replacement kit.
I don’t know the micron size of the cartridges and that is not listed on the website and I dont know the psi going into the unit. I only turn on the cold water full blast and let the system run it’s course. The water is going through all of the filters and membranes and I’ve double checked...

Mark, I have cleaned out all of my containers. My brute trash can that I use to mix the salt in was dirty before but not now. I rinsed it out and wiped it down. There was a tan film all over it before I cleaned it out. I also did the same with the five gallon jugs that I store the salt water in...
I have a liquigen 75 GPD rodi unit. I just bought and installed all new replacement filters from liquigen for the whole unit. After letting the system flush itself out for a few hours I tested the water with my TDS pen and it was reading zero. So I made 20 gallons of water for a water change...
These are pictures of my actual rodi unit. The canisters look like they need to be changed out to me. I ordered new replacement canisters for everything for everything. This should fix my problem.
I just got my TDS pen and took some readings on my water. Water straight from the tap is reading 300 PPM and water through my rodi unit is 230 PPM. This seems high to me and is probably because I had the hoses incorrectly hooked up for the first five months. I’m thinking that I need to change...
I was able to drop my tank temp 2 degrees today. I took the glass lid off and made this out of some egg crate that I had lying around. I’m hoping the temp will drop another point or two overnight when things cool down a bit more. I’m going to keep my ceiling fan on at all times which is about...
