Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Jsas's November mtg @ JA is only done once per year, usually a little early 7p to 9:30p because the staff staying for the tour is doing it on their own time - no pay. So you really can't have monthly mtgs there because no one stays behind once they're closed. And can't use upstairs for mtgs...
Sorry but I wasn't allowed to post in announcements for some reason. :It's been awhile but Jersey Shore Aquarium Society is having a presentation by Paul Sherman/Bill Kulesa on SW topic for February 12th meeting. Hope some of you can make it. Free coffee - reg/decaf , tea, bottled water...
I bought and received an MP10QD last week and havent't touched it. Still in original box. Bought it from Marine Depot , and changed my mind about using it. But since I opened the box can't send it back for a refund. Went with instead the Current USA Eflux power heads and loop controller -...
I've decided to go with AquaMaxx Reef welder for gluing the rocks together. I've read one of the things that the manufacturer says for you to do with AquaForest Stone fix is to wash the rocks after cementing with RO water, which would really be a pain.
AM reef welder isn't really epoxy or a...
Well this is my 3rd attempt trying to make it look decent. Is it too much rock for a 32G? I wanted to get some caves & once I get Stone fix maybe create some better over hangs. I put the "arch" stone on top so as to make the whole thing less "horseshoe shape". Still have to find a place to put...
Thanks Jim. I already watched that video, very interesting aquascaping with rock. The Caribsea Life Rock appears difficult to work with . It is very dense which makes it difficult to saw, drill, or chisel. The smaller amount of Florida dry rock is more porous
& a little easier to work with. I'm...
I hear ya about keeping those rocks together. That's why like i said in my original thread I'm gluing them together ( will try & do a couple overhangs) with the BSI IC-Gel. I've seen many positive reviews of this gel over epoxy.
When it comes to plants I have no problem with aquascaping, but when it comes to rocks I draw a blank. Here are 2 pics of the rock work I have - hammer is for scale. I know It's a little more than needed ( a little over 40lbs. ) I have about 18-19 large rocks and a few small ones - under 3"x 2"...
I LOVE THE COLD!! I told my wife if I win the lottery I'm moving to Alaska! ( with or without her! ) My favorite year would be : 10 months blistering cold & snow, 1 month spring & 1 month summer ( however temp not going past 80 for summer) LOL
I should be able to do Sept. meeting - middle of the month, the 15th or the 22nd - I'll definitely know by March if that's ok.
I know it's listed for north jersey however i'm in the central part by East Brunswick. I'm only a couple of miles from exit 9 NJT and between Routes 1 and Rt. 9.
Yes they are "cool" and over $100 cheaper than an mp10qd, but the controller has some limitations - although it would be easy to add it to the programming - there is no "night" mode except that it shuts off the pump completely instead of allowing you to 'reduce' the flow like the Ecotech's.
First - HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!!!!
I've seen a lot of people who own any of the gyre pumps talk about them needing regular frequent cleaning in order to perform well. You know it tells you something when Maxspect & IceCap send you extra bushings with the pumps because they wear out quickly. I...
I ordered a new model gyre pump made for smaller tanks - Icecap 2k - for my BC 32. It was supposed to be released late November and then changed to mid-December. Now the makers - CoralVue - don't know when its being released ( must be having production problems). Anyway I'm thinking of...
