Yes you do need to adjust it as your demand changes. With a pH controller you can generally just adjust the pH setpoints.

I have my apex set to send me a text/email alarm if the pH in my reactor drops below a certain level indicating that the regulator got stuck open. If I wanted to get fancy I could always have it shut off the feed pump also.

Yep there is definitely some very active discussions regarding MH. I went with some cheap reflectors on my 300 to see how I liked them. After 6 months I'm making the commitment and and upgrading the reflectors.
