So I just got home to everything in my tank off. I checked my inkbird and the last temp it shows was at 9:30 am. It's now 5:33 PM! So the tank has been without heat/flow since 9:30. (Temp dropped from 79- 72 thank God i left the central air at 73 today)
As i was turning everything back on, my...
I thought some parts were good but others felt like when the vegan extremists try to shove veganism down your throat. (pretty sure it was made by animal rights activists so that's probably why)
That's the funny part, i don't have algae. I mean, i have a little bit of dragons breath but it's barely like 1 strand so I doubt that would drain my entire iodine right? no GHA, nothing. I am dealing with Coolia Dinos still. And i have cyano growing over it that i havent cleaned because I want...
It's definitely possible. This is the first ICP I've done that's why I posted it here because i didn't really understand what I was looking at and what needed fixing. I would imagine if it was chlorine, my fish and corals would all be dead at that level right? But when I click on it and it...
So I just got the results for an ICP test i sent out. Can somebody help me know if there's anything I need to fix? (Iodine is 0. Not sure what to do. Do i dose?)
I sent one out because I had a few heads of my big hammer colony die after dragging and one head torch also die along with my duncan...
Dosing nitrates is a lot easier than feeding more because you might need to increase your nitrates and not your phosphates. You can do one without the other with dosing it but you can't know how much of both you're getting with just heavy feeding. I've been using neophos/neonitro. I had 0 with...
She said it's only on the zoas. Peroxide dip will completely kill it. I cleared bryopsis from my tank by simply brushing the areas it grew in, with a toothbrush and some peroxide. Never came back
You should keep it as simple as possible. Some powerheads, light and the tank. That's it. You could get a six line wrasse to have some nutrients and help with eating pests (but you'd obviously need to use cycled media or cycle the tank first)
You can make frag racks out of egg crate if you wanna...
I have 2 slw 20s on my tank, an ow for mixing salt and a return pump. The return pump makes a specific noise but you pretty much get used to it (plus the central air is probably louder). Never had a problem. They all work great
Do a hydrogen peroxide dip. zoas are the easiest to dip in peroxide. 3 mins and the bryopsis will just come off with a little scrubbing. (i do this to every zoa i buy even if I don't see algae as it could even help kill off pests the regular dip didn't)
