Water changes work until your alk consumption is high enough for water changes to not be enough. I do them weekly but my alk drops in between those days so I have to dose
So Im currently using the DIY alk from Randy's recipe at around 8mls per day to maintain my alk.
Looking for new options.
What do you use for 2 pt dosing?
A lot of the stuff in this hobby seems to be super overpriced only because of how little competition there is. Take in the ecotech pumps for example. Absolutely insane that they charge $400+ for every individual pump when it's a cheap piece of plastic with a magnet. All because there's no other...
Unfortunately buying sick fish doesn't help anything because they just get more in since they see people are buying. The best and hardest thing you can do, is not buy them
I went from ich, to dinos, to cyano on top of dinos, to now what i suspect is either something eating my euphillia or BJD. This hobby sucks.

I don't have pictures yet but I've lost a few hammer head recently and i think it might be BJD. It looked almost like a web over it. I turned off all flow and pulled it out into a container. In the container, the head came off and it was all mush under the white. Now I've just slowly been losing...
Lol where do you keep getting these awesome used tanks from?! I search everywhere and i never find any. Good luck with your business! Maybe you could give me some tips on shipping liquids (I've gotten a lot of requests on fb marketplace to ship Phyto)
Everyone has different settings to how they like their tank to look. Some like it blue, some white, and some in the middle. It's personal preference. And then some people don't know how to take pictures of corals
It could honestly be anything from lighting, to flow, to it just not liking the parameters in your tank or the stress of the move. For the most part, I'd leave it on the sand bed to acclimate changing things around will just stress it out more on top of stressing out corals that were previously...
I'm the same way. The way they market their things is genius but sometimes you can tell they're pushing a certain product because it makes them more money. People forget sometimes that their channel is based on their business and their business side wants to make as much money as possible. I've...
from tsm i don't get corals. Only fish because they're the healthiest I've ever bought. (never a 12k fish though lol). That's good that you get a deal. Then it's definitely worth it for you. When i went, it seemed he was probably a little short on stock and the things I liked were just too much...
Reefco or TSM (for fish) for the most part. Their tanks and entire store always look clean and organized. Everything always looks healthy and prices are fair. The very few times I've been to sea level, everything was super expensive
I definitely would but Covid kicked my a** when it comes to work and money because i was laid off for a majority of it. So I realistically can't drop 1k+ all at once for an apex system unless i want to be homeless
I found everything at Sea Level overpriced. The store was average looking and the tanks were kinda messy and gross so I never bought anything from there. Maybe it was just the day that i went but i wasn't impressed.
My question is, what can I do? Is there some sort of sensor that will send me a notification when it loses power that i can plug into the strip to help? (I know the Neptune has something like that but i don't have the funds for all that)
