Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
It shouldn’t be an issue. It will be as good as the factory sealant. If you have any acrylic, pieces, you can sharpen it on a grinder, it makes a great scraper that doesn’t scratch the glass. Don’t use metal scrapers. Plastic works, but it dulls quickly and needs resharpening often. Acrylic is...
Well i did have high nitrates, and algae in the past. The pellets and gfo were effective in solving that. I just overshot it a little. I’m going to try to phase out the gfo, but I would like to try to dial in the bio pellet reactor.
Cool thanks. I was hoping you'd chime in. Can’t argue with your results when it comes to euphyllia. Im struggling to get the euphyllia to take off. My green star polyp growth has also stalled. The only reason gsp stops growing is low nutrients. I have removed half of the bio pellets, & 1/3 of...
Are these two corals too close to one another? Can they harm each other? The flow tends to blow the torch in the direction of the hammer. The tentacles will touch when they get a little bigger.
Sponges don’t usually do well in new tanks. Often die off anyway. Usually start growing eventually in mature systems. They usually don’t tend to to be aggressive, towards coral.
I did the swap. Hate disturbing coral, cause I know there best of being left alone, but the flow is definitely more appropriate for the torch in this new spot. its kind of close to the hammer now, but both being euphyllia, hopefully they’ll be ok.
After a year of messing with my power heads, I have finally stumbled upon what appears to be good random flow, with no dead spots. Instead of power heads at opposite sides, I put the both on the left wall, blasting towards the right across the top. The water swirls downward off the opposite...
It looks similar to what I see all over my tank at night. Some consider them pest mainly because they can supposedly jam pumps. I haven’t had that problem. I’m happy to have them.
