I wouldn’t spend $50 on the Hanna either. Unfortunately, (or I guess fortunately) I haven’t had to treat any fish with copper so far. Although I'm sure the Hana is probably the most user friendly. Chances are there are other kit that will work.
Good sign that the fish has a strong immune system. Also good that you have a qt tank on standby. My tang was getting nipped for a while. I never caught the offender. It always healed up fast. It seems to have stopped happening lately.
I have seen them frequently at absolutely fish. They are big on aquaculture fish that most lfs don’t have. That is where I got my aquacultured yellow tang. Prices are comparable to live aquaria.
I had a ton of very large mushrooms in my previous tank. I tried fragging once. They shrivel up and squirt fluids everywhere, and turn to mush. Its certainly not as simple as cutting them in half with scissors. If those are all JB,s worth some really good $$$. Why not get someone with...
50 50 chance. Depends on the individual. Like many marine fish, it could be a model citizen in one tank. Put it in another, it’s a menace. Pay up for a captive bred, tank raised one, and your odds will be dramatically better. If you have aggressive or semi aggressive fish all ready, it might...
I don’t trust any lfs to test my water. They Test everything in like 2 minutes. It takes me like 30 minutes to do a full set of tests, with development times and making sure I follow all instructions to perfection. I would get calibration fluid, good test kits, and what you need to do it yourself.
Here is a short list of my favorites. Trochus snails, nassarius snails, blue legged hermits (mine don’t seem to bother anyone, except occasionaly each other). Some reefers have reported problems with hermits, but not me so far. And my favorite is a tigger conch, or fighting conch (only 1 for...
When your air conditioning and heating is on, you will be evaporating a ton more. I manually topped off for a months or 2 in the beginning. I quickly realized the ato is needed. I would take sponge up on that.
