I'm running 2x SB extreme 32" fixtures supplemented by 2 6' t5s (mainly for evening out the light). Been very happy with the appearance and growth I've been getting with them

That's definitely no red planet. I'm going to have to snag a frag of that whenever you take some snips from it. That's a really nice stick!

I also like to blend sand sizes. I use a mix that's primarily special grade (like 2 to 1) with a finer sand and a few scoops of crushed coral. Looks more natural to me and the fine stuff gets held in place by the coarser stuff. Burrowing critters appreciate the diversity of textures for...
If you need help further down the line, let me know! There's limited reefers up in our corner of the state so always looking to meet other reef geeks.

I've drilled dozens of tanks. As stated above, make ABSOLUTELY sure it's not tempered. Feel free to call the manufacturers and they can usually tell you if you have the serial number or date of manufacture.
Secondly, high quality bit is crucial. Go slow and keep the drill vertical...
With the right powerhead placement, the sand shouldn't blow around too much after the dust filters out. I do prefer the special grade sand in high flow tanks as it allows higher flow nearer the sand bed which is helpful. The wrasses will be fine in and sand that's not crushed coral size...
Been running calcium reactors for years. Low maintenance and once it's dialed in, maintains calcium and alk as well as any doser. I'm running a procal reactor from MTC (a jersey based company in Midland Park) with ph controlled by my apex and a carbon doser regulator. The system is fed by a...
I put them in my homemade food mix. Wish I could throw them in on the half shell, but that might be hazardous for my tridacnids

They'll die when they're submerged.
Fun fact though, "roly-polys", pill bugs, whatever you call them are technically isopods. They're the only order of terrestrial isopod.

Over!!!! My wife always does the reverse and it drives my OCD nuts!
I remember a couple of years back charmin did a poll online and mapped the results. 49 states said over. The one under state.... California, of course.

I'm actually running the same pump and mine also doesn't have the adjustable baffles. Your level of your ATO will actually determine the return chamber level. I run mine so it's the same depth as the skimmer chamber and it seems to work well.
As far as the fuge I don't run it as a fuge since...
I'm running the ruby elite 36 on my system. What were you wondering about it? Mines kind of the hub for the fish room

I buy lab grade KNO3 which is what the stump remover is. I just trust getting it pure over something much less regulated (I had the same reaction to "place stump remover in reef and walk away"). Lots of people use stump remover to heat effect, though.
The good thing about this method...
I have to pull my Lineatus out of the overflow almost weekly. He just jumps in when he gets spooked which is all the time

hard to tell from the picture, but the color and rough shape look right for majano. Can you take a picture with some white light?

I stopped running gfo because I couldn't get above 0 on my ULR hanna checker.
Now I rely on my fuge and biopellets (And my skimmer) and it maintains it at about 5 ppb.
