Those $80 mars aqua lights on Ebay have been working fine on my tank for over 16 months. The fan died on one, but a quick trip to best buy fixed that real quick.

That's very odd. I noticed in my system that GHA had trouble growing on coralline. Once the purple stuff took over the rocks the GHA began to go away.
