I don't run a sump, just a hob protin skimmer and a reactor.. would like a sump but its not a necessity food for thought.

Well since my other tank has been built up pretty good, there is no reason to do that one. I had my biOrb set up as a salt tank a while ago, broke it down to make a fresh water tank and now back to salt. So here is the start to it... Tank cleaned out, new light purchased and it has been cycling...

Used for about 7 years, just disconnected last month. Works good for fresh, holds phosphates (couldn't bring them down wile using it) when using for salt, good for fowlr. Could use a new set of baskets, but they still work fine. Pick up in Marlton, near Atco. UV sterilizer bulb was replaced...

Ausome thanks guys and gals. I'll have to pick up a bigger pump, was originally gonna go with a 7 gallon bucket on the floor but the pump I picked up doesn't have enough power to get it up from the floor (no sump). I'll pick up a bigger one today.

So I just got a ato from mark_c at the meeting.. Trying to set my tank up for minimal mantiance while I am away for 8 days. I have an old 2.5 gallon tank laying around. would this hold enough for a 55 gallon tank? I know there is a lot of variables... just want to keep the tank kind of...

I had two quahog clams living in my tank for over a year, then I started on corals.. water conditions got too clean and they died lol.. kind of ironic.
