That’s an awesome looking tank! Those lights are impressive also but too bad they’re not available. Have you had a problem with the bulbs needing to be replaced a after a short amount of time? Sorry for all the questions just trying to learn as much as I can before making a decision. Trying to...
I saw it doesn’t look like Ecan had sold his 61” aquatic life t5 hybrid yet so I was thinking about reaching out to him. Yes I saw the BRS recommended mounting them high but also I noticed the lights you posted in the first link last night recommended a 24” mounting height for optimal spread...
That’s my concern with the black box led’s. A lot of them recommend that you hang them 2’ off of the tank for maximum spread, I don’t plan on doing that. That’s why I want the t5’s to help with light distribution.
So as far as lighting goes (planning ahead), I love my Hydra26 over my biocube and know that for what I want to do I’ll probably need 4 fixtures. However I’m leaning towards a t5/led hybrid option. Ideally I’d like to get 2 more 26’s and an aquatic life 60” t5 hybrid setup. But I’m wondering...
I
I wanted the 44” and probably still would’ve had room but it was about savings and I had a hard enough time getting the 36” in so the 44” would’ve been much harder.
That’s great! Makes it so much easier. I have one open top 55 gallon drum and 2 55 gallon drums with 3” bungs. I’m not sure an easy way to make the close top drums work for me yet.
I also recommend just getting new bulkheads also. They’re not expensive and you can have them tomorrow. It’s worth it for the peace of mind.

Thanks for the update! The tank is looking great now you’re making me wish I went with the 180. The 2’ deep tank really adds depth and you’re rockscape is really cool too. Looking forward to seeing the coral grow out and fill it up.
