Yep I added an 80 watt Emperor Aquatics UV back in August. I don't think that it would have prevented this but may have helped with the severity.

The finish line is finally in sight. Last week marked 10 weeks fallow. It actually went by much faster than anticipated.
About 5 or 6 weeks ago I had another round of losses I in the hospital tank. I lost two wrasses and my regal stopped eating within a few days of doing a large water...
I used Moorish Movers from Eatontown to get my 315 gallon tank from Ocean County to Mt Laurel when I bought it. It was a challenging move up out of a basement through Bilco doors and down into my basement. The guys were great and well worth the money. They are experienced at moving tanks and...
I would plumb them back with a gravity drain to your sump and pump from there back to the display. If you try to use a separate pump from your fuge / rdsb / frag tank it would have to equal the flow into that series of tanks.... not an easy task. You'd end up with then overflowing or a net...
Love the tank dimensions and am looking forward to seeing this come together. It may seem a little intimidating at first but the Apex setup really isn't that bad once you get the hang of it. Just take it one function at a time and don't forget that you can snag a lot of the code from their forums.
It's hard to go wrong with live aquaria. When you start factoring in gas to drive to the shops up north the shipping isn't too bad. If being home for delivery is an issue have it delivered for pickup at a ups hub. There is one over in woodcrest. You can even avoid the Saturday delivery...
Good luck salmon fishing! Been wanting to try it but I've heard the horrow stories about the crowds. Gonna try to sneak up there for a few days in November or December for steelies.
Im not sure if this has been addressed yet but is it controllable with a 3rd party controller? If not does the cord to the controller have a plug or is it direct? If the former I'm sure someone will figure out how to rig something up if its DC.
Dan honestly you're tank has had so many changes in the past few months I'd been inclined to let the sand be for now or at least gradually remove it. I've made multiple changes to my tank at times and it makes it difficult to determine cause and effect when issues pop up.
Its coming up on a month since I pulled the fish and started treatment with CP. Im happy to report that the remaining fish are doing great. Even the desjardini tang that was looking really rough is completely healed. Im going to treat another two weeks CP just to play it safe.
Its definitely...
Im guessing osmotic shock due to a salinity change. Fish generally cant handle rapid increases in salinity (> 0.002). Salinity and temperature seem to be the most important parameters when it comes to acclimation. I killed a few fish early on not paying attention to salinity. I also fealt...
