If the water is cold it will take longer to hatch, that is why people suggest putting a put a light on it. I don't and but usually get a hatch between 12-24 hours with the water being 66. :oo:
I did recently buy decapsulated eggs that are suppose to be easier and hatch quicker but I am...
With talking about the size of the tank and that bacterial problems happen if tank is too small or not cleaned enough, I came across a picture of bubble tail I had to deal with. I'm posting so you can see what it looks like.
I have 4 sexies and still waiting for something to happen. I believe I have one male to my 3 females. From what I read, the female carries the eggs on her tail so the eggs must be starting to hatch now.
Best way is to train them to a feeding station. I had a tube attached to the corner of my tank that went to a large deep shell. I would put the thawed, rinsed mysis in turkey baster and push it down the tube to the shell. When I did my water changes, I would run a brush thru the tube and suck...
When I had my big horses, I had a constant problem with bubble which is a bacteria problem. I did frequent water changes. I only had 2 in a 20 gallon with a 10 gallon fuge so talking from my experience. Bacteria infections were the most discussed problem on the seahorse forum.
I think you are...
It is a FB site dedicated to dwarfs, babies aren't separated from adults, but I can understand having a larger tank has better water quality but couple of us are saying that if have only few ponies, it is easier to keep them fed in smaller tank even though you have to spend more time on keeping...
I wish they swam around more. Most times they just hide, stay near the bottom and wait for their food to pass by. That was why I put the sexy shrimp in there, thinking they would stay more toward the top so had something to watch up there... they didn't. They also hid :uncomfortableness...
Well, I counted 32 but not sure if I missed any lol.
I have them in the 2.5 gallon because I caused an ammonia spike in the 7.5 trying to make sure the sexy shrimp were fed... moved sexies back to the 20 gallon. I started to take the water and poop from the small tank and exchange it for the...
I like the rain at the moment because this is my allergy season. My symptoms are coughing, fatigue, tight chest and dryness :oo: Yep, that's my allergy symptoms...no normal sneezing here
I was pretty much a homebody in the first place so think this is easier on me.
My art club closed so we put the monthly show on line for April and getting set for May's too. I'm the one that makes all the flyers and have been working with the Gallery director and web guy to get it all done...
Not easy raising them until larger, that is why they have better chance being let go.
Don't feel bad Paulie, it's the facts of life. Maybe if you have your lights on less they will realize it's winter... but then can't enjoy the tank.
That was why I got two females when I had my big seahorses.
My dwarfs have been having a lot of babies lately. When I moved them from the big tank to the smaller one, I had put 15 into the big tank originally but moved 26 back to the small tank... and found another one in the big tank two days...
