I got it off another forum, Manhattan reefs. It's a great little tank. Just needs a taller stand.

good decision. i started with the deep blue stand it was way too shallow. i went with a custom stand and couldn't have been happier.

The last time I ran metal halides was around 2009-2010. I used a 36" coralife 1x150w hqi, 2x54w t5. What would you guys suggest? 24"x24"x12" I don't think I'll need anything more than 150w.

welcome! i used to have the 80g. the 60 makes a cool reef. might i suggest something? i'm not sure if you're planning on using the DB stand, but try raising it with a platform. if you are going custom, for my 80g i had my custom stand built to 4-5' high.

Long story short, I'm back with a 30g. Jgraz found me a 30g with sump on mr next to nothing. This is going to be a slow build since still need to get lights, rodi, and a skimmer. I used to have a very similar setup and tbh I miss it. Tank-30g DB 24x24x12 Sump- custom built by custom king...

Rob I think you'll be happier with halides. Judeo brought up the best method for light acclimation unless there's a way to raise and lower the lights.

since you are speaking long term, i think the fact that you can rebuild the mp's should steer you into that direction.

What about gas? I mistakenly let mine sit with gas. I drained it and added new gas. Started up 20 mins later.

ok great thanks for all the help guys. i ran out of gas after filling up the snow blower. will have to make sure gas was the issue tm.

it's definitely old enough that I don't remember when i changed it. I'll drain it and add new gas. I'll check the spark plug as well.

My generator isn't starting. Changed the oil. Any other suggestions?

If I go anything 4ft I'm going to hate myself since I sold off all my 4ft tank stuff like my custom stand and sump. I need to be 2' or 6'+. If I go that big, it's going to be fish only for some time. I really miss my old 30g. It was easy to maintain and it was kicking butt before I upgraded. And...
