    Starfish

I’ve had a blue linckia 8 months and it’s great. Not long enough to call success yet but looking good. I have a 65g with a 10g hang-on fuge. Plenty of live rock. I’ve seen it reach out the few times I’ve put baby brine shrimp in the tank, so I’m wondering if it also feeds on pods and other...

    Toadstool closing

Thanks for the advice-it's nice to have my toadstool back! Brushed the sponge off and it took a couple of days but it's open and back to itself. My wife and oldest daughter love that coral.

    Toadstool closing

Thanks, I'd read about their closing to shed but it's been on and off for several days now, plus the coral used to curve away from the rock and lie more or less horizontal, now it's much closer to the rock and is aligned more vertically. It's attached to the rock so if I remove the sponge I'll...

    Toadstool closing

a couple of weeks ago I added an emerald crab to take care of some bubble algae...he's been a good citizen for the most part but when he's go near the toadstool it would close up. Lately I've noticed the toadstool is closed most of the time and has a yellow growth near its base, and this yellow...

    Major league exotic pets jackson

I checked it out last month and returned two weeks ago to pick some livestock up. Allen is a great guy and the shop is excellent. Definity on the small side for their saltwater but high on quality. Looking at it as my go-to local shop right now, I second the recommendation.

    hitch-hiker molt--any ideas?

I found a strange invert molt in the water column of my reef tank, pulled it out but there was no way to get a good picture of it.....it looked like a slightly larger mysis shrimp (I feed frozen mysis). Anyone familiar with a hitch-hiker that could be a similar size/shape that this could be...

    Injury? Disease?

Thanks for the reply madreefer. To wrap it up, the fish died a few days later. My guess is it hurt itself during acclimation and irritated it between burying himself and/or stress from new environment....or came in with an infection. The open area grew from day to day and I never saw it eat...
