i'd consider a snowflake eel for a 55 - if eels are your thing. They require a bit more care since you want to ensure the tank prevents them from escape. Then adding any other fish that is bigger than the eels mouth will work. Or some small colorful fish (damsels) that you wouldn't be too...
The quickest way to make a million dollars in this hobby is to start with two million....
Anyways my point is you have a sunk cost already with the 55 and you'll be lucky to get pennies on the dollar of that stuff. A FOWLR 125 doesn't require a sump in my opinion. Actually in my opinion you...
well look on the positive side..i left for 7 days and came back to a pair of dead maxima clams. Anyways an ati blue actinic is not going to be the culprit imho. It's purely for aesthetics. There is very little to any PAR in one of those bulbs. If you had swapped out a blue plus then maybe. I...
welcome sara! i'd suggest a 120 if your fishy tastes go towards a full blown reef. Bu if you have the 125 already - it's nice a long for tangs. I wanted a 6 foot tank but the wife frowned...haha. Anyways welcome!
well i didn't spend time in the Maldives like someone else here...but we were over in Hawaii for a week. were on a local beach away from the tourist spot and saw this.
they are about half the size of the molecrabs you might find in Point Pleasant/Sandy Hook.
I can only assume they are baby...
we'll all be here to help when you decide to come back. Not saying i have the best advice to give (haha) but i give it freely. :D
but seriously as my tank rebounds just ask and i'll frag what i can when you're ready.
You can't have foreign airlines conduct business in the US (domestic) unless it's a stop-over for fuel. plus the US airline unions would kill whatever politician ever came up with that idea lol.
But i totally get you - the experience with the international flights on foreign airlines are...
i use a kalk stirrer connected to my tunze ato. Long long ago when phyl was on this board she had suggested to all that having both was ideal (calc and kalk), but if you had to pick one - to go with the kalk first. Hence why one of our earliest group buys were these kalk stirrers. Of course...
i use an old MRC with an extender and waste collector. Stuff reeks. Lately though the newer skimmers are smaller/compact and just as effective. The MRC doesn't come with a pump -i have to hook it up with my reeflo. Good luck -the choices are dizzying!
the only "Pests" that are stars i can think of are asterina stars - which have a love/hate relationship. I've got a ton of those if you want although I'm in central.
i think the reason why you have different opinions is that emerald crabs are from the genus mithrax. But wholesalers/retailers aren't about to spend quality time figuring out a mithrax from a xanthid crab or other. Basically it's quite possible that some folks have perfectly fine crabs, and...
i know that when i don't change out my t5s on time -there is a slight and then gradual color change on my sps (what's left of mine lol). So wait - did you start with 500 or ramped it up to 500? you're supposed to start at 1/4 the optimal mix. Anyways - someone with more exp on the bp...
