    Plumbing...you knew it was coming...

Just out of curiosity, why are you using the drain line to regulate tank flow? Shouldn't you be restricting the return flow? Personally, I would never to anything to restrict the drain. Flow rates change over time and that just sounds like it could lead to an overflow in your display.

    New razor reflectors

I'm glad to see they got rid of that dark traingle between fixtures. Thats' driving me crazy on mine. I'm supposed to be getting the reflectors in a week and hope they have the same result for me. Are you supplimenting with VHO's or T5's? I still feell like the tank is a bit dark compared to...

    Happy Birthday JohnS_323

Lol! Thanks for the birthday wishes all. It was a great day home with the family. As a present, I'm now part of the LED family and finally got rid of those MH bulbs from the last IceCap group buy!

2 RBTA Free to good home(s)

I did a looooooong overdue water change today and found that I had 2 RBTA living in the sump in my basement. No idea how they got there. All I can think is that they split off from the 2 in the display and went white water rafting down my returns! They have been in zero light for a while almost...

    Aquarium Advice

Ditto. I was there in 2004/2005. The people were too nice. Someone would post something crazy like "I'm thinking about keeping a Port Jackson in my nano. Is that OK?" And everyone was like "oh that should be fine if its what you want to do". Then three weeks later they'd be saying to another...

Forgot about the airholes on my Durso's...Not good!

I had a bit of a disaster today. I was in the basement doing my weekly water change. Part of the process is to shut off the flow to my display so that I can get a full 50g out of the system. After I pump the old water out, I transfer new water over and turn the flow back on to the display. I...

    What a game

LOL! And a Mets fan I see . . . That's tough love right there! I'm a suffering Mets fan, too. They were in a league of their own this year - AAAA!

UGH ready to pull my hair out

I wonder if there may be some rationalization that takes place here. If the buyers think they are making an investment in their stock by getting these "designer" corals it may help assuage the angst that goes along with spending so much money on a coral. It may be easier to justify paying $40...

    What is the best glue?

One other addition I use. This helps the epoxy set very quickly. Also, if you're just using the gel to glue frags to plugs/disks, they sell an accelerator that harders the glue VERY quickly. Squeeze some gel onto the plug, have the frag piece ready, spray the accelerator on the glue, and place...
