I love overbuilding, rather be safe than sorry. 1/2 is good, I always use 3/4 but that's just an over builders opinion. Looks great so far but on the top why don't you put an extra support long ways. Just my last thought.

Thanks @Aram ess fun and his tank is almost cycled out. Gonna fill with softies only so I will be looking out for some Zoas and shrooms in the near future... I added a Multi colored light under the cabinet and put a piece of glass behind the cut out to make the Shark cut out really stand out
