I used a 40 gal. under my 180, I think would be a minimum for a tank of that size. If I had the space and my druthers, I would have liked to have a sump for equipment, and a separate display fuge separated into two sections, one for vascular type plant, i.e. eel grass / oar grass, and one for...

In a pinch you could make your own solution. Here is an article explaining the method under the heading, "Refractometer Standard". Here is another article explaining the reason you need to use a solution that is near the refractive index of your test sample under the heading, "Imperfect...
I was using the same BRS 1.1 ml dosers connected to Intermatic DT 620 timers dosing 10 times each per day overnight, one on the hour one on the half hour.

Its not Matt of ECA is it? I know after the fire he was looking to open a place in NJ. I would have thought that EHT or Hamilton Twp. would be a better location.
I'm not 100% on everything in these articles, but I think they will give you a starting point.

I would use CaCl from BRS. You can also get Soda Ash from them, or make it yourself with simple A&H Baking Soda(baking it). I would however consider using the Kalk as well. First make sure your SG is right, since this is when you're adding your Ca, Alk and Mg in the first place. I would...
