    Duck decoy's / Prints / Stamps

Lynn has recently come into possession of a number of hand carved/painted duck decoy's, and framed/matted prints w/stamps. These were her father and brother's who recently passed. I would like to get educated as to their value, so if anyone has an idea where to start, i.e. web sites, etc. please...

    Insulating Water Change Container

I used to keep mine in the garage year round as well, but would only put the heater in the can the day before I did a WC. I did however keep a couple PH's in there; one to provide aeration near the top, and one in the bottom to provide additional circulation, that I'm sure added a little heat.

    Timers

I was using the Intermatic DT620 timers for everything. It has a large display making it easy for me to read, is easy to program, has 28 programmable settings, and is rated at 15A. I've used a few of the lower rated timers, but they didn't seem to hold up as well, even though they weren't...

I used to use kalk paste, the same way to remove aptasia, etc. Used a home made syringe, pumps off for about 1/2 hr.

What brand of GAC are you using? Did you rinse it before use? If it was Kent, you might want to read this.

    Dinoflagellate Hell

There is no silver bullet for most problems in our systems, and a number of different species of problematic organisms that react differently to our remedies. As is in almost all cases removal of excess nutrients is part of any solution/remedy, i.e. aggressive skimming WC's, etc. I would be...

    How's Jim aka downbeach doing?

I started with a 14' outboard, and went to a 17' Katama in the early '70's, I wouldn't doubt that they are still floating around somewhere. They were the last outboards I had until I bought my current Grady-White in '08. I almost bought an Outrage 210, but it came down to the engines, the GW...

    How's Jim aka downbeach doing?

A real classic boat, I had one about 20 years ago. There is still a good demand for them, and I'm sure he'll get a premium for it. But just out of curiosity ask him where he's advertising it, and I'll take a look.

    How's Jim aka downbeach doing?

Fair to middling. I've been lurking. I've been boat shopping, looked at about a dozen boats, but haven't found any pearls in good enough condition to entice me to give up my current boat. Thanks for asking.

    Bio Pellet users

As Paul has mentioned, 500 mL is about right for your system @ ~ 236mL per 50 gal. of net tank volume. Adding a GFO reactor will help get the P04 down to where you want it, although I would add it in small amounts and let it decline slowly. I would also suggest, if you don't already have one...
