Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Not your fault J, just venting.
Salt, I was going to run a 3D print but the problem is the degradation over time of the materials if constantly damp or exposed (especially) to salt water. PLA is the basic plastic made of cornstarch. There are some more durable plastics like ABV that are a PITA...
Their pricing has always been high, but selling mounting systems as 'modular' is, as the Brits say, 'taking the piss' (aka taking ridiculous advantage to the point of stupidity).
For me to arm mount, if bought new in pieces...
$266 for 2 mounts, thats nuts.
OR, just buy a full unit for $110...
Picked up those 2 gen 3 Radions from J and was planning to build a mounting rack.
Figured I'd reach out here first to see if anyone has any mounts laying about.
If you guys cant work something out, I should have a small to medium one I can bring up to Lyndhurst, but its a narrow window as it would have to be picked up between 5-7 on Sat night (we're there for a kids party).
Mark - thats the one you gave me, its now 3, maybe 4. I'll drop one by this week.
Mike - Thank for the info. I'm stumped atm. They look more like Pink/Golds than Mohawks, but the skirt isn't right for either (its not rounded on the edge and there's no pattern, plus its way long, almost...
Bad wording on my part. Meant the dosing tank. Was throwing out that Ca precipitates more in higher pH and if there was an oddity in the dosing mix itself it would clog lines quick. Was a dumbish thought, but threw it out there as (poorly worded) info :)
I use the lying on the couch half-asleep...
FYI - Calcium is a bootch and a pita to dissolve anywhere. CPPD on joints, gallstones, oxidate as kidney stones, etc.
If its occurring on a line thats in the tank itself you could try decreasing pH to hit around 7.
If it clogging in the line the only 2 ways i can think are:
1. Decrease the...
Agree with Boeh, just dose a bit of phyto, but even if you dont they’ll live off detritus.
The wrasse will love em as a treat and secondary food source and to keep hunting skills up.
A mandarin eats nothing but, will strip the 13 clean in hours, and would starve in the 75 in a couple weeks...
D - Its a tiny one. 30g 3’ long, 12” deep and high. Still want to get a few more things in so this time I’m going to make room in lieu of occasionally upping in size to 120. Got a gladiator clown, purple fire, lyretail, neon goby, orchid dotty, and there was a leopard wrasse in there about 6...
Thanks Chris.
Yeah, she does that trying to mug me for my lunch money. Only works about 73% of the time.
Also, if those last pictured zoas are of value (I’m under impression they are) I can frag them up and give away a bunch, $0. If not valuable, or no interest, I’ll just let them grow.
Also...
So I turned a corner after a year and things have finally fallen in line. There were about 5-6 ‘pack it up’ thoughts over the past year.
PS If anyone knows what those guys are in the last shot, please inform, they’re growing like weeds.
+1 for fan over sump (or over back compartment in an aio)
A simple fan drops my tank temp by about 5 degrees in my aio 30g
But it does cause a crazy amount of evaporation (about 3x normal)
I'm using this one here (but there are a ton of others, just type in aquarium fan on Amazon)...
If you're going to buy another Red Sea, call them first.
A lot of these places will offer a substantial 'loyalty discount' on a replacement for an out of warranty item.
