Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
The main impetus was the fact that I got some berghia that I was afraid he'd pick off. I also wanted to let the pod population grow so that I could get a mandarin.
Just pulled him out of my tank so that the pods can grow. Mellow fish and very pretty. Pickup only in Warren. Free to a good home. otherwise he's getting dropped off at a store today.
Considering a break from the hobby down the line and would like to start putting feelers out to find one or both of my eels a nice new home. Right now they're comfortably together in a 180. The yellow edged is in the rocks a lot, but often peeks out. The Tesselata is usually out at least 40%...
Smaller emeralds are fine. But I wouldn't put a large male one in a tank with any small fish. I've watched them try to grab fish. There is no doubt in my mind they're sometimes successful at night.
Sorry to hear that. Happy I decided I wasn't in a rush to do this one before my vacation. One of my Cor pumps never would turn off/on from Apex even though it was completely controllable otherwise until the last update when it finally started behaving and responding to feed cycles and toggle...
The issue with this is that you really want the circulation pump to run longer than the feeder. Otherwise you'll end up with dry food in the mixing chamber just sitting until the next feeding. I have mine setup with the circulation pump on 24/7 to make things a little easier.
Here is my Apex...
Man, I just gave away a reef abalone that could have helped you. Have you tried to find a sea hare? If you do decide to toss in the towel send me your number, I might be interested in the fish. Where are you located?
The higher it sits as in you should be using the lowest bracket slots to raise the unit higher. Hard to be 100% sure from the angle, but I'm pretty sure you're using the higher ones, which makes it sit lower. Here are pics of my two of my units for reference
and my third which is on an egg...
Very nice. One tip though... mount the Clarisea higher. It looks possible. Ideally completely out of the water on the highest mount setting if you can. The higher it is the more effective it will be and the rolls will last much longer.
Did your system ever have fish with ich? I know my system low key has it, although none of the fish display anything and you would never know looking at the tank. But I've had bad luck with the susceptible fish like powder blue/achilles and I know that emperors are known to be one of those ich...
You might be in for a battle... I got KP Aquatics rocks and had an absolute nightmare with a colony of pistol shrimps. I thought it was one or two but it ended up being like a dozen of them and the battle lasted AGES. It was horrible. If you're interested I think it starts on this page of R2R.
I have it as well, definitely a worthwhile investment. Actually, come to think of it, I have four of them... (although only one is currently running) haha
