It's brown but not exactly slimy. I thought it was hair algae but I googled that and it isn't that. It is long strands of algae with one little bubble at the end. Imagine a helium filled balloon on a string.

I got a Kingsford Charcoal container from Lowes. It holds maybe 8 gal of water and it has a nice handle on it. It all depends on where you plan on keeping it.

The sand was dry sand. I purchased it from MarineDepot. So it needed to be washed again and then cycled. I just got too much of it and had it left over.

Mushrooms are impossible to get rid of. I had blue stripped mushrooms in my cube before. I started with two of them. They turned into 30+. I tried everything to get rid of them. I took the rock to work a power washed it with the hose and about 3 months later one came back.

What is this? I noticed it the other day growing out of the center of a rock with Paly's and a toadstool on it. I got it from Daniel about the time the swap was called off. It kind of looks like a mushroom. It has bumps on it and it is shaped like a funnel.
