Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
For a nano, if possible run a skimmer....that with some filter media and water changes should hold you off. Just also plan on having a very lightly stocked tank given the small water volume
you will need a small pump as well.....note that it will take some time for it to "kick off" so you will need some patience. In the meantime, do look into the issue that may be causing the hair algae this way you can have it under control for the most part
the same like a fuge.....just where water flows across the screen. the screen gets light added to it and grows algae. this out competes with the algae in your display
i made a batch the other day myself....just with shrimps, scallops, squid, clams & nori. fish seem to love it so i can't complain....i molded them into this: DrTim's Aquatics Natural Bene-FISH-al Fish Food Starter Kit for All Marine Fish: Aquarium Fish Food and it gives me nice small serving sizes
for that size tank, you may want to try the .2 Drop Algae Scrubber (that's what i use on my current tank)
DROP.2 drop-in upflow algae scrubber with Green Grabber surfaces - 0.2 cubes feeding per day
for the HOG, you can make a DIY version if you are into that
or you get it from the site...
Like anything, start out slow....too much can also be a bad thing. the CPE has gfo in it plus it's carbon mix son you should be able to ditch your carbon bag once you add this. Place it in a area with some flow. I had mines under my filter sock in the IM
Also, for now manually remove as much of the hair algae as possible. Essentially, you will be removing the nutrients from your system. Follow that with water changes
Have you tried purigen? As a preventive maintenance method? I was running that along with chemi pure elite in my old 10gal IM
