I did this years ago with sailfin mollies. I did it fairly quick, don't yell at me, I just dripped the saltwater for a few hours and tossed them into my DT. They did eat tons of algae. The female gave birth and my fish ate all the babies then turned on the parents.

Mine is the last pic without the adapter. Personally I feel the flow is much better than a sock. When the sock gets clogged the water level in it would rise.
With the cup I don't have that problem at all.
Is that FB site. They whine way to much IMO. I get what they say about seahorses being dirty so bigger is better, they need height, etc. But for now they are babies and if the tank maintenance is being done diligently just ignore them. You seem to be well so what that does say.
