TanksNStuff, I have home made LEDs. The video comes out much better if I shut the pumps and eliminate the shimmer because the camera can't focus with the shimmer
I am learning on this camera. I never took a video with it so I tried again with the focus locked. It doesn't get me as dizzy, but still not perfect. :o
I built the thing mainly for this young skinny female mandarin. Up unitl now she has been afraid to go on top of it and would just suck up the shrimp around the edges but now she hangs out on top of it and sucks out dozens of shrimp. I need her to grow a little so she can mate.
Don't get the window screen confused with the baby brine shrimp feeder. Window screen is only used for adult brine shrimp. For the babies, I used a fish net.
I also used acryllic tubing to get shrimp into the thing. Flexable air tubing will work but then you have to put your hand in the tank...
The "B" in my above picture is plastic window screen available everyplace, but that was for adult brine shrimp.
It could be anything, this one looks like 3/16" but it does not matter. I used rigid tubing so I can just lift the thing out to clean. If I leave it in there permanently, it would...
I love this stuff. I modified it a little by adding a better funnel on the top so I can just pour in the baby brine and I added a tiny hole at the bend at the bottom of the acrylic so the air comes out of the tube before it goes in the feeder container.
I also sealed a couple of lead weights...
All fish in the sea know how to find their food and in a tank it is even easier for them. The problem is that in the sea Mother Nature supplies food all day, every day. We as humans have other lives and usually don't want to feed our fish continousely. At least I don't. Also some fish are...
You can put them in a processer if you like. I like to freeze them and shave of paper thin slices. In a food processer it loses a lot of clam because most of it turns to mush but it is the samr clam if you prefer to do that.
I noticed that I have this wierd bubble algae growing only on my cement rocks. Randy gave me an Idea and suggested that it "may" be the iron that is attracting the algae to the cement. It could be another chemical in cement but I will try iron first.
I made a slab of cement about 6 square inches...
I have this bubble algae growing in a few places in my tank and in some places it is very heavy. I am not worried about it and kind of like it, but anyway, I noticed that it is just growing on my home made cement rock or the cement on bottles and none of it is growing on any real rock.
It...
I was just looking through some pictures from a couple of years ago and I noticed the progression of one of my Euphyllia type of corals.
These are an easier type of coral to keep but I didn't realize it had grown so much because I see it every day.
I think this first picture is about 3 years...
