MarkC would think it must be stored in the dark with circulation for awhile. Then filtered before using. I have been wanting to try this too but my tank is doing well and cannot take the chance.

You are correct. That is what I read in my booklet. The problem I see is calcium can change for many reasons so yin have to test and calculate to dose. To much work for me so I drop 5ml of each in my tank every 2 weeks.

I agree for salt water coraline would cover the bottom anyway and was curious if people bothered to paint it. On the FW side there would not be coraline but there has to me something else that would cover the bottom making paint pointless.

Saw this post on FW site and it looked cool. Does anyone paint the bottom of the tank if you go bare bottom? "stone spray paint, it will take 4 or 5 coats but looks like you have sand in the tank"

Good news. Fish was alive when I woke up and even ate is favorite frozen food, brine shrimp. Crisis averted for now.
