55g non RR tank 150 gallon pond 20 gallon long reptile tank, has sliding screen top. Coralifi 125 skimmer , no pump. Also missing sponge pre-filter not sure what else may be missing but is functional.

Couldn't I get a machine shop to cut 8 inch end piece and drill holes through it and use them instead of the ones it comes with? This way it lay inside the rails like its supposed to.

What about this? It seems Hydra is bout 5.5 inches in depth and my fixture is 8.5 inches; was thinking I could just lay the fixtures across top. Good / bad...
