Since I am starting the tank with 100% dry rock I know its going to take awhile for the tank to get established so I have maybe 150LB+ of Liverock that is in a rubbermaid tub. I've not heated so i know there so some die off since sponges still need good flow to thrive.
Thank you. I currently have 3 yellow tangs and just ordered 2 purple tangs, hippo and copperband. I figured these groups of fish should be added at the sametime for aggression and then I will add 2 powder blue tangs later. I wanted to add nice group of Anthias but the prices are insane and a...
Hi All,
My name is Ashish Patel from Marlboro NJ. I have been in the saltwater fish hobby since I was very young and reefing since 2008. My current tank is a combination of years of my own personal experience and knowing what I will do and what is essential for the species I plan to keep...

I feel the corals that have the highest price tag are tenuis that look normal under daylight. I feel the best looking SPS are still pink lemonade, palleta pink tip, and strawberry shortcare, ASD milli, These few look fabulous in any light.
Id say go with any coral thats been in the hobby for 10+ years. obviously ppl going to recommend Montis and stylos since they are more forgiving then acros but some acros are just as hardy. I would suggest Red planet, tri color valida, Pink lemonade as good beginners corals.
I will get some pictures but you can check out my build thread here. I just about got done finishing my scape, suprisingly i used all the so called junk pieces and the show pieces took me months to realize I shouldnt use them, like I am talking 100LBs of tonga...
I've used every type of rock available and feel the newer man made rock is just brick of cement and lacks any real biological filtration per LB - I dont trust its strength either as I recieved tonga branch rock in pieces, the real tonga rock i have is so strong I have to use a hammer drill to...
