Update: Water is in, salt is mixing, cycling begins in 24-48hours!!!!!!!!!

Do we think they will last for at least a year or so? I'm sure I'll have a controller by that point.....I also may have already thrown out teh boxes.....

Rocks and sand in -- on hold till tomorrow when I get some more things in the mail. Surge protectorrs and cycling things :)

Update: Just bit the bullet and did a leak test of the tank and plumbing -- I kept putting it off. SUCCESS!!! Had to tighten the bulkheads a little bit - hand tightening was not enough. and I'm running dry!!!!!!! Going to drain the 30 or so gallons in the tank and get to putting rocks and...

Going with sand at the bottom -- I want sand sifting fish and plus I think it just looks nice. Alright -- I will not spend too much time on the rocks @amado , what you say makes sense :)

Update : Working on aquascape. This is my most recent arrangement. Picking up a couple pieces of shelf rock to use as a bridge over the canyon. Then I'll try some more configurations. Any rock tips?

Update! So I went to bed last night with a timer to get up and make sure that my float valve and auto shutoff worked given it's all newly setup. Then I awoke to the birds and sunlight this morning in a panic realizing I had slept through the night. Ran down to the basement sure I would find it...

Update: Hard plumbing done and in place!

The overflow is the only area big enough for the 2 eheim heaters. They're soooooo long and the baffles in the sump make it so they can't lie down. :(
