Picked up the tank today FREE from @amado so no longer looking. Just wanted to say thank you again for the tank! Incoming build thread in the near future
Yeah well that's the thing, I only have 2 kessils which is not nearly enough to cover my tank so I figured by selling them I could get better coverage. Another brand that's gaining some traction is noopsyche and they are about $150 a light for 95 watts which isn't bad so I was considering them...
Yeah a lot of the prices are pretty ridiculous when you think about what you are buying. Personally I try to look for good deals when I can and it seems to be working so far for me so far, knock on wood. I'm actually considering selling my kessils and swapping over to black boxes. Apparently...
I just picked up some dry special grade reef sand. Brs sells it, Aragonite Special Grade Dry Sand 40lbs - CaribSea . Not sure if that's a large enough grain for you or not, good luck!
Hi all, so if you haven't seen my other post 125 Cracked Brace/Trim, Opinions?!? yet, I'm still deciding if my current 125 is safe to use or not. In the mean time I figured I would see if anyone is selling a tank 125 or larger at a reasonable price. Thanks and let me know what you have!
Hi all, So I bought a 125 rr from another member a few months ago and it's been sitting in my garage ever since. I went to set it up finally today and noticed that the trim is split / cracked in 2 places. One on the top frame and one on the bottom frame. Does anyone think this is safe to setup?
I sent kessil an email about these lights a year ago and I was inquiring about the par these put out and they told me that there lights shouldn't be judged by par alone, I believe they were saying something about the lights having good pur. I'll see if I can dig up the email. I wouldn't go right...
I'm no marine biologist but it makes sense to me. I don't think the fish are really absorbing any elements from the water? Maybe they are? I have no idea lol
You could also buy or make an upflow algae scrubber , super easy to use and don't tank up a lot of space. I got one from a member on reef2reef and I'm not sure how well it's working because I've only had it for a few weeks so far but hair algae is starting to grow in it pretty quickly. It just...
Welcome to the club, except mines finally starting to go away after locking down my nutrient control . Only took me a year and a half to figure out how to manage my nutrients lol
Edit: I have similar phosphates but I locked down my nitrates to less than 2 ppm with my new fuge light so as soon...
I have an ehiem auto feeder which you can use flakes in but it's extremely inconsistent because of the random flake sizes. I just throw flakes in in the a.m. before work manually, pellets in the auto feeder around noon and then I feed frozen at night
