Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I just wanted to pass this along. There is a pretty cool site out there called Mr Rebates that can save you some money on things you buy from LiveAquaria and Foster&Smith. The site is very easy navigate and registration is free. The way it works is that they have a list of online retailers that...
The aqualifter on our nitrate reactor quit for few days (weeks?) and we didn't realize it. The media mix has been sitting there with no water running through it the whole time. My question is do I need to replace all of the media in it or would I be OK to just flush something like 20g of water...
Welcome Red Sand! It's great to have you on board as a vendor. I've heard a lot of good things about your store and you seem to have a very loyal following. I hope to be able to make it there soon to say hi.
Thanks for your support and I look forward to visiting your store.
I'm sure a lot of you heard about this story but for those that didn't, check THIS out.
The best line is "For our work it's a bonus, but it wasn't good for this particular animal." Yeah, I'd say it wasn't so good . . . :(
Well, we finally broke down and set up tanks for the kids. Sierra (7 years old) is the turn-coat of the group. She wanted "the pretty pink fish". Zach (5 years old) decided to stick with our good old family values! Here are the first pics:
A Pair of Pico's

OK, so I picked up a bottle of calibration fluid. When I put it on my refractometer, I get about 1.028 for sg and 37 for whatever the reading on the right is (lol, never stopped to figure out what that means!). What should those be calibrated to with the solution?
TIA.
Here is a riddle I ran across in a course I'm taking. I thought it was pretty cool and wanted to see if anyone could figure it out.

Does anyone remember what "CCT" means on Sanjay's charts? I saw that Reeflux with PFO's has a CCT of 0 and XM's with PFO's have a CCT of 13082. I'm not sure what that means!
I found this quote funny and accurate, so I though I'd pass it along:
"Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical
liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream
media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to
pick up a...
I'm sure this has been asked somewhere but I can't find the answer. Does anyone know if the Koralia's can be used with a Red Sea Wave Maker? If not, is there any other way to get them to pulse?
Well,
After a long 4 days of work, we successfully emptied out, sold and got rid of our 120g, moved in and plumbed the new 180g, aquascaped and put in sand, and finally moved in the livestock. The process started Saturday night after the meeting (Oh yeah, I was in good shape for that) and...
