Smell from the water is completely gone. I added salt last night and took the reactor off line. I think I'll run it for a few more days and then take it off line clean it up and use new carbon.

I snapped some pictures last night but I was too tired and sleepy to upload them last night. My salt is mixed. and tonight SAND!!!!! By this weekend I'll be building pillars. Time to stockup on Epoxy.

I'm using E.S.V salt jeeze its expensive but I have not added it yet if my water is truly fouled.
So last night My tank finally finished filling and after draining the sump...sigh... and shifting it 6 inches to the right into the correct place ...*smack head for not realizing...
After viewing my options for sand I went with the tried and true caribsea reef floor special. A mix of Fiji Pink(live) and normal Dry aragonite. In total 3 40lb bags and 1 20lb bag should make for a fine sand bed.
Since this tank is a lot taller than my old tank I decided to reorder and rebuild...

SO i got my new starphire tank in place and setup... I went ahead and washed it out the best I could and so did the guy before me. I couldnt get into the over flows the way i wanted.. well I filled up the tank over two days and just started the pumps to get a feel for how it is... the water...

Temperature fluctuation might have triggered it.. we went from some very hot to a mildly cool day recently.
look around IN the tank... in emergency's i always follow the following:
#1 - Try to identify the issue
-Cleaning Solution used? Child threw a toy into the tank? Nail from...
