I know this is a bit off topic, but I have always felt stability comes from finding that sweet spot of the right mix of fish, inverts, lights etc. that keeps the tank working in harmony. When a big event happens like cucumber going nuclear...it throws off the stability. This can then have...
You have all seen it...feed the fish what they will eat in three minutes...and then remove uneaten food. I have visions of some poor newbie chasing pieces of Mysis shrimp around the tank trying to get it out after the three minute egg timer expires.
Maybe it is just me, but the suggestion to...
Still early days, but clam is showing good mantle extension. Polyp extension on SPS looks good. Rock anemone seems content where I placed him. Moved a half inch or so day one...otherwise has stayed put and extended its disc so it is fully open.

Here is a thought. DT is healthy with rock covered in coralline...corals..fish..inverts. There is some natural resistance to allowing cyano take hold...and there are not many bare areas in DT that meet all the optimal conditions for cyano to take hold. Alternatively, there are large open...
New SPS in the tank. Already showing polyp extension. Flower Rock anemone looks content. Clam looks ok so far. Will need time with clam to see how it does. So far so good

Always thought cuttlefish were cool. Chameleons of the sea. Can't go in on this, but if you go ahead with it...will definitely follow any threads on the journey.

Luckily your wife doesn't know you have a fish tank...so I am sure she never suspected a thing [emoji6]. Never good seeing a flood..glad it worked out ok in the end

Glad to hear the aggression ended. I have never owned either a rabbit fish or Marine beta ....so no direct experience. What are you feeding the rabbit fish? My marine fish book says they are not typically finicky eaters...suggests sheets of dried algae, frozen spinach that has been thawed...
I had good luck with mine until my tank crashed. Size matters, since smaller clams need nano food, but 3 inches and larger mainly use photosynthesis.

Is the industry short on decent maxima clams. Seems like they are in short supply, and the few that are available are not very attractive.
