Looks awesome! Careful with the GSP to keep it isolated on an island. I have a similar tank and I let it touch my main rock structure. Two years later it looked like this and was strangling other corals and I had to re-scape. It was literally growing up and over a bird's-nest to swallow if.
The red stuff remains invincible 1 year later. I've been told it's Gelidium and nearly impossible to equate manually.
Nonetheless I decided to rescape the tank due to other issues, namely ugly palys and GSP taking over my main structure. I ordered some Marco rock and finally pulled the trigger...
Hi, looking for small frags of Monti Cap preferably red and green. Purple Stylo, and pocillopora green or any color but blue. Bird's-nest and green slimer also. I have a nano tank so I'm just looking for small pieces to test the tank and see if it will grow SPS
Located in Hamilton but I can...
Hey guys. Tank still up and running doing pretty well. The green stuff was bryopsis and I've been treating it back and making progress. I really need help with that red macro algea. It's slowly taking over the right side of the tank. Growing over zoa's even.
I try to manually remove it every...
Thanks! I was afraid it was bryopsis. I'll do my best to pluck it out and dip. Definitely want to keep it from spreading The other stuff is most likely macro?
Need some help with an algae ID. This stuff came hitched on a zoa frag from LFS there are two types that I can't seem to get rid of. The tank is doing well outside of these spots. There isn't a pervasive algae problem elsewhere on the rocks. The Green stuff in the foreground completely choked...
I think you're both right. I won't be "chasing" numbers per se. I'm going to let it come down over time, I'm doing pretty substantial wc every week, not gonna go crazy and add a bunch of GFO. But I do think I was running it too high, I had a couple weekly measurements between .15 and .2.
Agreed on the phosphate. I had been using reef roids but I heard they increase phosphate a lot. So I'm pulling back on that and it should sort out over the next few water changes.
3 month update. Things have been going well so far. Stocked the tank with a bunch of frags over the past few months. Finally invested in a yellow and orange filter so I can post pictures.
I've been dosing vibrant as a preventative no nuisance algea and it's been working really well. Talk is...
Agreed! The equipment and dry goods are awesome there. The coral section very sad, which is a shame because its the only decent LFS in the area (Hamilton NJ).
