75 on a 125 stand

Thinking about getting a stand for a 125 to put my 75 on. Hoping it will spread the weight as I live in a second floor apartment. I would be getting the stand on ebay, it should have a 3/4" top on it. Be interested in input as obviously the ends of the tank won't be directly over the ends of the stand, which I would suspect are designed to be load bearing to handle a portion of the weight of a 125. Thanks for the input!

What you plan is reasonable, but it's only going to make a difference if the stand will span more joists.

Since the stand is only 24 inches longer, it's only going to span one or two more joists at best. It may not make that much difference.

Surprisingly enough, the wall it back's up against is exactly 6' long and it will catch/span the other two joists. I figure it won't hurt and maybe give me a little more piece of mind. That and the fact I'll get another two feet of cabinet space for new equipment down the road isn't a bad side benefit either.

The only problem I see is the vertical support for the larger stand will not support the 75 on the ends.
At the very least put a brace from front to back where the 75 will sit
The 3/4 top will help also
