75g fishs'

always told the GF no way on these fish until she read this article
http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2005/9/lines

was wondering how a reef tank would do without crabs/shrimp/snails.

the GF really wants a puffer or a dwarf lion fish. i would be willing to give up inverts, unless it would be detrimental to the tank. and would my live stock stand up to the lion fish?

i never thought any of these fish would be ok but the GF realy wants a puffer or lion

and for me..... is there s trigger that wont eat coral?

The lion I would wait till the tank is totally stocked since they're venomous you don't want to be in the tank too much.
Puffers I don't know of any that are reef safe in means of corals or inverts.
Reef safe triggers, there is many you have blue throat, cross hatch, black durgeons and I know there's more.

We have a 65g tank that has our eel, a wrasse, a tang, a hawkfish, a small clown and a dwarf lionfish. The wrasse is the biggest decimator of the snails, second only to the hawk. I do throw 50+ in there once every few months to restock. In the mean time the tank does just fine. The lion doesn't bother the clown which is much smaller than he is and the eel is the perfect tankmate. I certainly wouldn't want shrimp in this tank as they'd be nothing more than an expensive meal, but I keep all of those in the display.

As for corals, we don't keep anything that is demanding of pristine water quality. Some anthalia, shrooms, zoos, leathers, toadstools.

There are lots of venomous fishes out there. Tangs and rabbit fish are the most frequently over looked venomous fish.

The rabbits are up there with the lions,I got stung once from a lion fish and having allergic reaction to bee stings hurts like you know what, the lion was about 500 times worse.
Haven't been nailed by a tang yet but I can amagine that would hurt a bit.

I got pricked by a rabbit fish when I worked in an LFS. I spent the night on the couch with a fever and nausea. I didn't figure it out until a the next day when my hand turned red and swollen. I had a desjardin that would swipe at me when working on the tank but it never got me. :)

The lion will eat whatever it can fit in it's mouth (fish, shrimp etc...)but probably leave the snails alone.

My Yellow tang has never directly attacked my hand in the water, but it is constantly attacking the glass between us when I am very close to the glass. I suspect that this is when fornt glass becomes a mirror and it is actually attacking its own reflection thinking that it is another tang. Nevertheless, the attacks are really something and they can be very well felt (and heard) through the glass, so I could imagine what kind of damage it could make on someone's skin.
