A good lesson and practice for all...

So this morning I wake up and there is no flow coming into my DT from downstairs. So I go down to the fish room to find that my pump has finally went. Luckily I have a backup of every pump in my system, a couple of unions disconnected and 10 minutes later tank is up and running again.

So basically the lesson here is always have a backup pump because you never know when it may go out on you. Dont wait until you are scrambling around like crazy to find one after it goes. I just browsed the FS forums on RC and when I see a good deal on one of my pumps I grabbed it.

I definetly need to take you up on that advice Darren I currently don't have a backup but will start to look at possible backups

Definately great advise. I had my skimmer completely crack on me, luckly i had my spare skimmer laying around and did the job until i got my new one. BUt thats aas far as my spare parts goes :). i need to get some spares lol.

Mine was under warranty when it went 2 years ago on a Thursday, they shipped a replacement on Friday, but I had to suffer the whole weekend with out and then it didn't show until Late Tuesday. Great advice

Great advice! my dart went and I had a mag 24 and in about a hour I was up and running. Always good to have a backup.
