A Milestone and an Observation

First the Milestone. As of this morning the Live Rock is curing away in my new 120!!! More exciting than I thought it would be - I find myself staring at it alot.

Now the Observation. As a guy who is really just starting out in this hobby I've realized that evertime I try to save a couple of bucks by cutting a corner here or there it winds up costing more. So while I'm not qualified to offer much advice here one thing I can tell other newbies - Don't scrimp if you can afford not to - and if you can't afford not to wait till you can then do it right.

That's probably one of the best pieces of advice. That along with do research ahead of time and make your own informed decisions on this research understanding not everything you read/hear/are told is gospel.

congratulations!!! On your last comment - I picked up a 120 but haven't had the time/resources to get it set up yet...so it sits empty. I'm hoping in the next few months to line up the appropriate items and then be ready for the 2008 frag swap! Though it is tough to avoid the temptation of splurging on the credit card!!! ;D

They're actually both milestones. Coming to the realization that you can't cheap out and succeed in salt is a critical milestone in the Saltwater Journey! LOL! Congrats on both milestones.

I remember well the days of staring at the rock (which was direct from a Fl LR company) and wondering what we'd see next. Enjoy!
