AI Hydra 26/T5 Setup and Schedule

Hey guys! does anyone have a AI Hydra 26/T5 setup and if so what T5s are you using and what schedule/setup do you have your AI(s) on??

1 coral plus and 1 blue plus 6 hours. I really like the blanket of light the T5 produces.
I run a 12 hour schedule. Ramp 3 up and down, 6 hours of 16k at 100 percent while t5 are on.

Results may vary! Subject to change! ;)

I would love to see the schedule and spectrums you have your AI's on. I am trying to get some references for our setup.

Are they Hydra HD?
Mine are 100 percent all Violet/Blues, 35 GRW is 16k spectrum for hydra HD.
8 am on, ramps up to full power at 11am to 5 pm. 3hr ramp down to 8pm
T5 on with Hydra at full power 11 to 5.

If this is for the Coral farm tank? I would likely Reduce to 45 blues and 16 or so other colors to start. May even need less than that with the 4 bulb T5.
Really a par meter would be best. 150 par or so at the bottom would be a good place to be. More, around 200 par if SPS specimens.

With HD light, the white is 1 to 1 with blues for 12k, 14k is like 2-1 Blue to white, 16k 3-1, 18k 4-1. This is a rough estimate. Notice my white for 16k 35 x 3 is 105.
The AI software has a bullseye in the top right corner that lets you choose spectrum. You can also pinch the graph or expand it to increase or decrease power once you find a color you like.

How high are the lights? How deep is the tank? How many AI lights?
The aquatic life 4 bulb at 10-11 inches AWL will give you roughly 80 to 120 par on bottom of tank. (assuming tank is greater than 18 inches deep)
The Hydras at same height will give approx. 120 to 130 par at 65/23 at center front directly under lights and taper off cone like to 90-100 par 9 inches from center of light to either side.
They will cover out to 24 inches but get hot spots in the 18 inch area higher up.

Some people use high intensities for shorter lighting durations. Some use lower intensities for longer periods to extend viewing window. Some like all Blue Windex look tanks
Some like a whiter look. (I prefer a whiter look)

Lighting is a very debatable subject.
Trying to give you some general guidance.

Use a Par meter if available and go from there till you learn/or students learn to read the coral reactions to conditions.
