all gone

Hey everyone,

well I did it, I finally chased down 4 hoodlum damsels and a pistol shrimp on steroids yesterday. They have officially been evicted. I'm about to order some peaceful fish, get that pair of angels I always wanted and with the new large L/R from the GB, begin anew. Just one problem, what fish to get? I have TO replace the fish I took out ASAP, my wife is already complaining.(Funny, she doesn't clean, buy, mix, fix, and labor at all over "HER" tank",LOL)I want a nice school of green chroma's, 5 or 6, maybe some sunburst Anthias, or maybe a cherub, a flame, potter's or Golden angels. I know that can be a problem, angels will fight, especially if they are the same species. But I love pygmy/dwarf angels. I will use caution, extreme caution.

Anyway, what else or what fish do you thing I should get?

I would skip the chromis and add more anthius nyaquatic has a sale on schools of 5.
I woud stick to pygmy angels over dwarfs, and maybe a scribble angel (mine does not bother anything nor does the emperor I got from tripsie)
You have to look at your tank go with what looks good to you.

I like anthias, I didn't see a special for nyaquatics, but I'll check back on their site later. I like blue/green chomis, think they look nice is a small school. Will see, and you're right, it's really up to me what I get, but I'd like some opinions, they help often.

I like the midas blenny. some of them have very anthia like coloration, and lots of personality. The lawnmower blennies are very personable too and have some fun patterns, not as colorful, but still fun.

Do you have any wrasses in the tank? If not, three of my personal favorites are the yellow, the sixline, or the solarensis. The yellow coris wrasse does have some questionable reef compatability with certain small invertebrates, but is the most reef safe of all the coris wrasses. It is also less of a jerk and has a bright, crisp yellow color. A very nice animal. The sixline wrasse doesn't get too large, perhaps maxing out at around 3" or 3.25" at the most. They have pretty green/purplish lines running down their bodies. The sixline wrasse is also supposed to eat flatworms and other undesireables. I have seen this happen, but I have also seen sixline wrasses with NO interest in flatworms. The solarensis fairy wrasse is an exquisite fairy wrasse with gorgeous coloring and not too terrible of a bank breaker compared to other fairy wrasses. Just watch your compatability with wrasses, in particular mixing different types of wrasses with one another. However, with their pretty coloring and generally active personality once adjusted to a tank, a wrasse can make a wonderful addition that you, and your hasty/anxious/excited wife might enjoy greatly.

Chalk basslets are fairly peaceful, small, schooling fish. They can be hard to find from time to time, but, when you do find them, you should snatch up a few. They have a nice, orange/pink/light purple patterning of dappled vertical lines. This way, you can have your cake and eat it, too, when it comes to schooling fish. They're super passive! Just give them plenty of caves and rock out croppings to duck into (kind of like a royal gramma)

The most uber-peaceful fish you could get is the cardinal fish, but I'm not sure if you would enjoy them. Your wife might enjoy them, because cardinals generally just hang out in plain view in schools. However, you guys might be really disappointed with them color wise. The pajama cardinal has the best coloring of red dots on a sort of greenish-beige body. The bangaii is the most widely recognized of all the cardinals, with a strange shape and dramatic, constrasting black and white markings. My manager and I often described them as the "Franken-fish," because, when looked at in the right light, they kind of look like three fish sewn together. Given enough space, cardinals can deal with schools of anthias and their activity without an issue. On an added plus side to cardinals, their behavioral pattern of just hanging out in the open can be an added bonus as a dither fish for more timid fish, as newly acquired anthias can be.

..... uh..... g'luck choosing?

Well

here's my list so far:

Black Cap Basslet
Chalk Basslet
or 2 Royal Grammas
Strawberry Pseudochomis or a Blue Bar, will have to watch them with peppermint shrimp
Whipfin Fairy Wrasse
A multibarred Angel, the poor man's peppermint angel. I have to find one that is eating well, very finicky, but worth the challenge
Atlantic Pygmy Angel
Of course a pair or trio of Cherubs

Outside of the cherubs, which I will get, what would you keep, and what will you give away? I don't want to overcrowd my tank, a 90, with more l/r than I intended to have, but that's another issue, for another day.
